About Us

Our Story

The BPMA was established over 20 years ago and is approved and recognised by the British Psychic Foundation. We are an umbrella organisation for fully trained and qualified psychics and mediums.

What Are Mediums?

Some mediums are formally recognised within the Spiritualist movement and become platform mediums. These are mediums that stand in front of a gathering of Spiritualist believers and deliver messages from the spirit world to those present at the gathering.

Mediums find it easier to work face to face as they can pick up their spiritual aura and the guides or departed ones present.

However, it is possible to give distance readings by relying completely on their spirit guides. When giving a distant reading, the medium will first tune in to their guides and ask the guides of the requester to bring those around them in spirit close to reveal themselves. The medium will ten receive a flood of messages, visions, images for them to pass on. When Mediums are delivering such visions or messages to their clients they will describe their guide or the spirits present and ask them to show them an image or give them a message. Often Mediums thank their guides as they are giving the information.

Telephone Mediums use their skills to tune into the other world by voice and channel their message this way.

What Are Spirit Guides?

A Spirit Guide can take any form male or female and often appears as a person from history such as a soldier or healer. Each Medium can have one or many guides. Guides are sometimes mistaken for Angels but this is not their function.

Mediums work with the information given to them and do their best to pass on the message to the recipient.  It may a long detailed vision or simply an acknowledgement to a piece of jewellery worn. In many cases a medium can establish a direct contact with a passed love one who passed over, providing information and messages from them.

All work with a basis of supplying detailed information, their name, describing their features, dates and specific facts about a range of facts around that person or the sitter a good medium has that ability.

What Are Mediums?

A psychic is a person who is able to sense things that are not available through ordinary sensory perceptions. This might include being able to divine things about a person not present through use of an object or article belonging to the person, called psychometry.  A psychic might also be clairvoyant, seeing things or perceiving things others can’t such as spirit forms. Alternately, a psychic might be able to see or predict events in the future, called precognition – have you ever simply “known” that the phone is going to ring?

Not all psychics claim to have equal gifts.  Often people associate psychic ability with precognition, or being able to predict the future and in cases they can do that it depends on the information given to them by their higher source .

People who use psychometry may sometimes be employed by police departments in the effort to gain access to knowledge of a crime that can’t be determined through physical evidence.
